Political advocacy:

Write to your Representative. Select the appropriate state, type in your zip code and then send your message.

Write to your Senators. Select the state, go to the senator's web site and send your message.

Health and fitness:

Sex, etc. is a web site by teens for teens. Read articles written by youth about important issues. Find information about your body, health, sex, glbtq, abuse & violence, drugs & alcohol and more….

Teen Wire is the leading web site for teens needing information about sexual health. They are committed to giving you the facts about sex so that you can use this information to make your own responsible choices.

For Girls:

Gurl.com is a great place to find answers, have fun, and get connected.

Girl Power! A fun sight for girls to interact, play and learn cool stuff. Its all about motivating teenage girls to make the most of their lives."

Learning and Education:

How to Learn. This site contains an on-line assessment that youth can use to instantly see their preferred learning style.

Study Help. Provides information about a long list of topics including: note taking, proofreading, study distractions, writing papers. Also includes a study skills checklist.

Vermont Student Assistance Corporation is the first stop when finding financial aid no matter where you plan to go to college or technical school. These folks are friendly but professional, and really know their stuff!

The Orphan Foundation — Find out more about the scholarships available to youth in foster care and the e-mentoring opportunities.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) — Students may apply on-line for student financial aid from this site. Students who applied for aid last year may also be able to complete a Renewal FAFSA application on-line.

College NET — provides basic information, including costs and financial aid. Students can search by state, region, size of university, major subject, etc. to find schools of interest. Lets applicants complete, file, and pay for their admissions applications entirely through the Internet.

Working World:

Vermont Youth Conservation Corp: learn about outdoor summer jobs for youth throughout Vermont.

Vermont Dept. of Employment and Training on-line resources to discover available jobs throughout VT and the US, along with links to job development resources.

Occupational Information Network. Find out about different occupations and determine what occupations match the skills you have.

Summer Jobs. Provides several options for teens to explore when they look for summer employment. This site also provides links to other employment related sites of interest to youth.

Teen Jobs. If you are a teen 14 to 19 looking for a full-time, part-time, summer, seasonal, volunteer or vocational job, then this may be the site for you to start your job search.
